Exhibition

After a brief sojourn to the States this August, I’ve returned home armed with a mass of photographs and some trinkets of questionable value. Some of these will be turned into work that can be seen with real live eyeballs at Nasty 2, a small group show opening on the 29th of September in downtown Fitzroy, Melbourne. The show is part of this years’ Melbourne Fringe Festival, and the opening will be full of smart, attractive people, so come on down. New work on display from myself, Shannon Hourigan, Lauren Olney and Bobby Harrington.

Check out the website for more info (or to see the photos from last years show)

Venue:
Brunswick St Gallery
Level 2, 322 Brunswick St, Fitzroy
Melbourne

Opening: Fri 29th Sep, 6-8pm
11-6 Tues-Sun until October 12

The inaugural International Puppet Carnival is being in Melbourne from 26 June to 2 July. I will be expecting many offers of dates and beer-infused puppet-watching activity during this auspicious period. Applications within, don’t be shy. especially if you are very clever/handsome.

Scary love

Whether he’s posing as a science teacher to thwart suspicious suppliers, or nonchalantly accepting mysterious gifts from friends in black plastic bags, there’s no doubt that Nicolas Caesar is adept at sourcing the best makings for his Scary Art creations.

Opossum remains, scientific models, stage blood, vitrines, goat jaws - all fair game for the tender ministrations of Nicolas’ perverse imagination. I don’t know if I am more jealous of the art he creates or the fantastic array of raw materials he has to start with. It’s lucky for him that there’s an ocean or two between us, or I’d be one balaclava short of a studio ram-raid.

Hie thee over to scary-art.com and droool over his gloriously ghoulish creatures, shadowboxes, illustrations and stellar collection of weirdarse links.

looks like we got ourselves a Reader...
When I’m not breaking things or glueing them back together, I’m watching or reading stuff.
Here’s a fine fine selection of brain food for rainy days, with the requisite amount of horror/violence/poppets/psychosis to keep your mind well and truly mangalated.
